Wound Reflection doubles every point of damage your opponents take for the rest of the game — at six mana, that's a one-card clock that turns any pinger or combat step into lethal math. Commanders like Aphelia, Viper Whisperer or a well-aimed Unstoppable Slasher don't need to hit twice when the first hit already kills.
Best Commanders
Commanders with the highest synergy

Aphelia, Viper Whisperer
Aphelia, Viper Whisperer deals poison and life-loss simultaneously, and Wound Reflection doubles that life-loss half — opponents racing to 10 poison are also being hemorrhaged on life, and Aphelia decks close games where either clock runs out first.

Davros, Dalek Creator
Davros, Dalek Creator wants opponents bleeding from multiple sources each turn, and Wound Reflection converts every incidental Dalek poke into doubled pain — a board full of tokens and a Wound Reflection in play is frequently a one-turn kill.

The Lord of Pain
The Lord of Pain turns every spell cast into drain, and Wound Reflection means each triggered drain instance hits for double — in a four-player game, a single spell chain can empty life totals faster than any combat damage plan.

Yurlok of Scorch Thrash
Yurlok of Scorch Thrash forces opponents to take damage whenever they spend mana, and Wound Reflection doubles every single instance — tapping out for a big spell against Yurlok with Wound Reflection in play is often immediately fatal.

Mogis, God of Slaughter
Mogis, God of Slaughter asks opponents to take two damage or sacrifice a creature every upkeep, and Wound Reflection turns that standing threat into four damage — over a long game the cumulative total is backbreaking, and opponents who refuse to sacrifice die faster.
Format Analysis

| oathbreaker | legal |
Commander is the natural home for Wound Reflection — six mana is affordable across a full game arc, and the effect scales brutally with the multiple opponents and incidental drain that proliferate at a four-player table. Legacy and Vintage technically permit it, but six mana for a non-interactive enchantment is simply too slow in formats where games end on turn three. Oathbreaker shares Commander's multiplayer math, and a dedicated life-loss signature spell can enable a one-turn setup where Wound Reflection ends the game immediately. Anywhere Wound Reflection is legal, Commander and Oathbreaker are the only formats where it realistically sees a second end step.

Historically it has spiked when damage-doubler commanders spike in popularity, so picking it up before building around Yurlok of Scorch Thrash or Davros, Dalek Creator is smarter than waiting.
