Well-Laid Plans makes every permanent you control with a shared type or subtype indestructible as long as it shares that characteristic with another — a permanent, passive blanket that turns tribal and typal synergies into a near-impenetrable board. The cost is a narrow dependency: in decks without density of matching permanents, it does nothing.

Well-Laid Plans lives and dies in Commander, where 100-card singleton decks are specifically built around tribal or typal themes that naturally stack matching permanents — Slivers, Elves, Dragons, Merfolk, and artifact-heavy builds all get real mileage. Legacy and Vintage are legal homes but irrelevant ones: the enchantment is too slow and too conditional for those formats, where redundancy and speed matter more than passive board protection. Commander is the only format where Well-Laid Plans earns a slot, and even there it needs a commander and supporting cast that commit hard to a shared type.

Price Context
Current price
$0.41 bulk tier
At $0.41, Well-Laid Plans is deep bulk — easy to pick up without thinking about cost. The niche demand keeps it there; it won't climb unless a breakout tribal commander pushes heavy adoption.
