Void Maw card art
Void Maw eats every creature that dies — yours, theirs, anyone's — and turns that board-wide graveyard denial into a growing threat on legs. Six mana and 4/5 trample is the fair rate you pay for an effect that makes Mishra, Tamer of Mak Fawa and graveyard-hate strategies look effortless.

Format Analysis

Void Maw is legal in Commander, Legacy, Modern, Vintage, and Oathbreaker, but realistically this is a Commander card. In Commander, six mana is acceptable for an effect that shuts down graveyard strategies at the table level — it doesn't require setup, it just sits there and eats. In Legacy and Vintage, a 6-mana 4/5 with no immediate impact on the board competes against formats where games end before it can grow, and targeted graveyard hate like Rest in Peace does the same job faster for far less mana. Modern is similarly hostile to that mana cost. Oathbreaker is the one non-Commander 60-card variant where Void Maw could slot into a controlling shell, but even there the competition for the top of the curve is stiff.

Price Context

Current price

$0.51 bulk tier

At $0.51, Void Maw sits firmly in bulk territory despite being a genuinely functional piece of graveyard hate with a combo ceiling. That price is unlikely to climb without a reprint into a high-visibility product, but at under a dollar it's one of the most cost-efficient ways to put a growing, trampling roadblock on the table.
