Commander is where Fatestitcher earns its reputation — the combination of a relevant tap/untap effect and a built-in Unearth lets it slot into both value engines and deterministic combo loops, and the graveyard recursion is significantly harder to hate out than a creature that just sits on the battlefield. In Legacy and Vintage it's legal but sees essentially no play; those formats move too fast for a 1/2 that needs setup, and Unearth doesn't generate enough raw power to justify a slot. Modern is the only non-rotating 60-card format where it's appeared in fringe combo lists, though it's never been a staple. Fatestitcher is a Commander card through and through — the slower pace, multiplayer politics, and graveyard-friendly ecosystem are exactly what it needs to function.
