Virtue of Strength // Garenbrig Growth lets your lands tap for double mana — a seven-mana enchantment that pays for itself the turn it resolves if you have five or more lands in play. The adventure half is cheap enough to cantrip value early, but the real reason to run this is the Ashaya, Soul of the Wild interaction: when your creatures are lands, every creature tap becomes a two-mana source, and the whole engine accelerates past what conventional ramp can match. Beluna Grandsquall decks hit 70% inclusion for a reason — this card is a staple in any green shell that wants absurd mana.

Commanders with the highest synergy
Beluna Grandsquall
Beluna Grandsquall is built around adventures, and Virtue of Strength // Garenbrig Growth gives it both a cheap early adventure to trigger Beluna's ability and a late enchantment that turns a wide land base into a mana engine capable of casting whatever you've been storing in exile.

Gorion, Wise Mentor
Gorion, Wise Mentor can cast the Garenbrig Growth half targeting another adventure spell, which means Virtue of Strength // Garenbrig Growth doubles as both a mana doubler and a spell that triggers Gorion's cost-reduction ability — two roles for a single card slot.

Omnath, Locus of Mana
Omnath, Locus of Mana retains green mana between turns, and Virtue of Strength // Garenbrig Growth compounds that by doubling what each land produces — the stored mana on Omnath scales exponentially once the enchantment is online.

Kellan, the Kid
Kellan, the Kid cares about adventures and Equipment, and the Garenbrig Growth half gives Kellan decks an early adventure trigger while the enchantment side provides the big-mana payoff needed to slam multiple spells per turn in the late game.

Wildsear, Scouring Maw
Wildsear, Scouring Maw wants to mill and recur at scale, and Virtue of Strength // Garenbrig Growth supplies the mana density that makes casting multiple spells per turn — or recurring expensive threats — consistently achievable rather than aspirational.

Commander is where Virtue of Strength // Garenbrig Growth is most at home: 100-card singleton games stretch into the late game regularly, and a seven-mana enchantment that doubles land output has plenty of time to recoup its cost and dominate the last few turns. In competitive EDH the CMC is a liability — cEDH decks win before turn five, and paying seven for mana acceleration is too slow — but in mid-power pods it's a legitimate closer for any green mana-sink strategy. In Modern and Pioneer the card is legal but essentially unplayable competitively; seven mana enchantments need a faster payoff than "your lands tap for more" in those formats. Legacy and Vintage offer no reason to reach for it over the degenerate fast mana those formats already allow. Standard is where it sees the most non-Commander attention, specifically in green ramp shells that can reach seven mana and then threaten to go over the top of midrange decks.
