Verdant Touch turns a land into a mana dork permanently — no upkeep cost, no creature type to remove, just a land that taps for green on top of its normal output. The ceiling is highest under Avatar Aang // Aang, Master of Elements and similar elementals-matter commanders where every animated permanent becomes a payoff, but even outside tribal synergy this is a clean two-mana enchantment that pulls double duty as ramp and setup.

Verdant Touch is legal in Commander, Legacy, Vintage, and Oathbreaker — the formats where it's actually worth discussing. Commander is its home: permanent land animation slots neatly into ramp packages, and the enchantment subtype matters for synergy-dense builds. Legacy and Vintage are theoretically available but the effect is too slow and low-impact to compete at those power levels. Oathbreaker is the secondary sweet spot, where two-mana permanent buffs carry more weight in a lower-power, 60-card environment.
