Vastwood Zendikon turns a Forest into a 6/4 trampler — that's a meaningful threat stapled to a land slot, with the upside that the land returns to your hand when the creature dies. The six-mana cost to animate keeps it out of most competitive decks, but in slower, land-matters builds it punches well above bulk-rare expectations.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t

| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |

In Commander, Vastwood Zendikon earns its slot in land-matters decks — think Titania, Protector of Argoth or Omnath, Locus of Rage — where the death trigger on the animated land becomes a feature rather than a cost. Pauper is where Vastwood Zendikon has seen the most real play: the 6/4 trample body is legitimately hard to race at common rarity, and the land recursion gives the card a second life. In Legacy and Vintage it's a non-starter — six mana for a creature with no immediate protection doesn't exist in those formats. Modern has faster and cheaper ways to close games, so Vastwood Zendikon stays on the sideline there too.

Price Context
Current price
$0.17 bulk tier
At $0.17, Vastwood Zendikon is deep bulk — easy to pick up in any trade binder or bulk-rare box. It's a niche card in a niche archetype, so don't expect the price to move unless a high-profile land-matters commander brings it into wider circulation.
