Valor of the Worthy card art
Valor of the Worthy slaps a +1/+1 counter on an enchanted creature and replaces itself with a 1/1 Spirit token when it hits the graveyard — two bodies of work for one white mana. In Mazzy, Truesword Paladin builds especially, that recursive death trigger turns every board wipe into free fodder.

In Commander, Valor of the Worthy earns its slot in dedicated Auras or Voltron decks — one mana for a counter plus a death-trigger token is real card economy at a cost where almost no other Aura competes. Outside Commander, it's legal in Pauper, where enchantress and Aura-based aggro shells exist, but the token being a 1/1 Spirit with no keywords limits its ceiling in a format that demands efficiency. Modern and Pioneer have enough superior one-mana Auras that Valor of the Worthy sits on the fringe, strictly for builds that specifically want the death-trigger redundancy. Legacy and Vintage don't care.

Price Context

Current price

$0.13 bulk tier

At $0.13, Valor of the Worthy is deep bulk — you'll find it in a common box before you bother ordering it. The price is unlikely to move meaningfully unless an Auras commander breaks out, and even then the ceiling is modest.
