Undercellar Sweep clears a player's entire board of tokens for three mana at instant speed — a lopsided answer to go-wide strategies that most removal spells can't replicate. The cost is narrow application: it does nothing against decks that don't produce tokens, so it earns a slot only when your meta demands it.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Commander is the only format where Undercellar Sweep sees meaningful play, and even there it's a meta call rather than a staple. Token strategies are ubiquitous at most tables — Prossh, Skyraider of Kher, Ghave, Guru of Spores, and Krenko, Mob Boss can all vomit out lethal boards in a single turn, and Undercellar Sweep answers that threat at instant speed for three mana. Legacy and Vintage are legal on paper, but neither format features enough token-centric game plans to make this worth a slot over more universally applicable removal. Oathbreaker shares Commander's casual token-heavy environment, so it's the one other format where the card is occasionally worth considering.

Current price
$0.21 bulk tier
At $0.21, Undercellar Sweep is deep bulk — easy to pick up as a one-of for token-heavy metas without any budget concern. Narrow situational instants rarely appreciate, so don't expect this to move off the bulk floor.
