Uncontrollable Anger turns any creature into a must-block threat by granting +2/+2 and haste — and when that creature dies, the Aura bounces back to your hand instead of going to the graveyard. The recursion is the whole reason to run it; without that clause, four mana for a combat trick isn't close to worth it.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
In Commander, Uncontrollable Anger finds its best home on commanders or key creatures that want to attack every turn — the bounce-on-death clause turns a single copy into a persistent threat multiplier rather than a one-shot buff. Pauper is where it sees the most legitimate play, since the card pool is shallow enough that a reusable haste-and-pump Aura at common has real value, particularly in aggressive red decks that expect their creatures to trade. Legacy, Vintage, and Modern are all legal but offer no competitive reason to run it — the effect is too slow and too narrow against the threats those formats produce. Oathbreaker mirrors the Commander read: fine if your planeswalker or signature spell creates a loop that benefits from the recursion, irrelevant otherwise.

Price Context
Current price
$0.06 bulk tier
At $0.06, Uncontrollable Anger is deep bulk — you're paying for cardboard and postage, not the card. That price is stable by definition; there's no demand pressure that would move it in either direction.
