Tymaret Calls the Dead card art
Tymaret Calls the Dead delivers three chapters of value — Zombie tokens, graveyard hate, and a Zombie lord effect — for three mana across three turns. That slow rollout is the cost, but every chapter does real work in any deck that cares about the graveyard or the undead.

Commander is where Tymaret Calls the Dead earns its slot — the 100-card format's slower pace lets the three-turn saga pay off in full, and graveyard synergies are everywhere in black-blue Zombie builds. In Modern and Pioneer, saga payoffs need to be more immediate; this one wins on rate only in dedicated Zombie or self-mill shells, and even there it competes with faster enablers. Legacy and Vintage have no use for it — three mana over three turns is far too slow for those formats regardless of synergy. Oathbreaker sits closer to Commander in speed, so the same graveyard-centric commanders that want it there will want it here too.

Price Context

Current price

$0.25 bulk tier

At $0.25, Tymaret Calls the Dead is bulk — easy to pick up as a throw-in or cheap upgrade. Bulk enchantments with narrow tribal application rarely spike, so don't expect the price to move unless a future Zombie commander pushes demand.
