Tsabo's Web locks down every nonbasic land with an activated ability — Maze of Ith, Cabal Coffers, Gaea's Cradle, all of it — and draws a card when it enters. Two mana to neuter the most powerful lands in the format while replacing itself is an exceptional rate.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
In Commander, Tsabo's Web does its best work: the format's most broken lands — Cabal Coffers, Gaea's Cradle, Maze of Ith, Glacial Chasm — all have activated abilities, and a two-mana artifact that shuts all of them down simultaneously while replacing itself is hard to argue with. Legacy sees it occasionally in Lands hate packages, where turning off Dark Depths or Thespian's Stage combinations is relevant, but dedicated hate pieces have largely supplanted it. Vintage has the most powerful non-basic lands in the game, but the format moves too fast for a two-mana do-nothing-immediately artifact to matter. Tsabo's Web is legal in Oathbreaker as well, where the smaller card pool makes its land-hate angle slightly more potent, though the format lacks the raw density of broken lands that makes it shine in Commander.

Budget Alternatives
Cheaper options that do most of the same work
Cursed Totem and Suppression Field both tax or blank activated abilities at a lower price point, though neither replaces itself the way Tsabo's Web does. If the specific goal is stopping Maze of Ith and Glacial Chasm rather than the whole category, Price of Glory or Hall of Gemstone cover overlapping ground for under a dollar, with different trade-offs on breadth.
Price Context
Current price
$32.97 premium tier
At $32.97, Tsabo's Web sits in premium territory for a card with a narrow, highly specific function — you're paying for a Reserved List artifact that happens to be uniquely good at what it does. The price is stable rather than volatile; demand is real but limited to stax and land-hate builds, so don't expect it to move dramatically in either direction.
