Tromp the Domains gives every creature you control trample and +1/+1 for each basic land type among lands you control — in a five-color deck with all five types represented, that's a free +5/+5 and trample on every attacker for six mana at sorcery speed. The ceiling is a one-sided Overrun that costs nothing beyond land diversity; the floor is a mediocre pump spell in mono-color shells.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Tromp the Domains is a Commander card in the fullest sense — the format's 100-card singleton decks naturally accumulate basic land types across five colors, and five-color commanders let it hit its absolute ceiling every game. In Legacy and Vintage it's legal but irrelevant; the formats are too fast for a six-mana sorcery that does nothing until combat. Modern is similarly unkind outside of fringe five-color domain brews that usually prefer permanent pump or cheaper finishers. Oathbreaker can support it in five-color signatures, though the smaller deck size makes consistent domain harder to guarantee.

Price Context
Current price
$0.10 bulk tier
At $0.10, Tromp the Domains is deep bulk — one of the cheapest functional finishers available for five-color Commander decks. Bulk rares at this price point rarely appreciate unless a competitive format picks them up, and that's not happening here, so buy it for the effect and don't think twice about the price.
