Toxin Sliver gives every Sliver deathtouch, turning even a 1/1 token into a creature that trades up with anything on the board. At five mana for a 3/3, the rate is mediocre, but in a tribal shell that generates wide boards the effect is simply oppressive — no combat math saves your opponents.

The First Sliver
The First Sliver cascades into Toxin Sliver off nearly any Sliver spell, meaning the deathtouch anthem can arrive for free while you're already building a board — once every attacker trades up, opponents stop blocking entirely and you close fast.

Commander is where Toxin Sliver earns its keep: tribal synergies scale the deathtouch anthem across an entire board, and multiplayer tables mean opponents have to respect every attack or lose creatures they can't afford to lose. Legacy and Vintage are legal formats on paper, but five mana for a 3/3 anthem competes with far more efficient threats in those environments and Toxin Sliver simply doesn't show up competitively there. Outside of Sliver tribal Commander builds, this card has almost no home — it's a role-player in exactly one archetype and it's very good at that job.

Price Context
Current price
$3.71 cheap tier
At $3.71, Toxin Sliver sits in budget-tribal territory — cheap enough to slot into any Sliver Commander build without deliberation. Demand is narrow but stable; as long as Sliver tribal remains a popular Commander archetype, the price has a natural floor.
