To Arms! card art
To Arms! untaps all creatures you control and replaces itself with a card draw — at instant speed, for one white mana. Imprinted on Isochron Scepter or looped through Selvala, Explorer Returned, it stops being a combat trick and starts being an engine.

Best Commanders

Commanders with the highest synergy

01
Selvala, Explorer Returned

Selvala, Explorer Returned

32.4% of decks · synergy 0.31

Selvala, Explorer Returned taps for mana and draws cards, so every time To Arms! untaps her mid-combo loop it generates another activation — this is the deck that turns a one-mana instant into an infinite engine.

02
Kasla, the Broken Halo

Kasla, the Broken Halo

18.7% of decks · synergy 0.18

Kasla, the Broken Halo cares about creatures entering and attacking in waves, and To Arms! lets her swing, untap, and threaten again within the same turn cycle while drawing into more threats.

03
Merieke Ri Berit

Merieke Ri Berit

17.3% of decks · synergy 0.17

Merieke Ri Berit loses the creature she's controlling the moment she untaps, so To Arms! lets you steal a target, attack with it, then untap Merieke to steal again before the trigger resolves.

04
Katilda, Dawnhart Prime

Katilda, Dawnhart Prime

16.1% of decks · synergy 0.14

Katilda, Dawnhart Prime turns every Human into a mana source, and To Arms! untaps the whole board after a tap activation — functionally doubling Katilda's mana production at instant speed.

05
Baylen, the Haymaker

Baylen, the Haymaker

11.5% of decks · synergy 0.10

Baylen, the Haymaker floods the board with tokens and wants as many creature taps and untaps as possible to pile up counters, making To Arms! a cheap way to reset the whole squad between phases.

Format Analysis

Commander is where To Arms! actually lives — the combination of instant speed, self-replacement, and mass untap is tailor-made for tap-ability commanders and Isochron Scepter loops that the singleton format enables. In Legacy and Vintage it's technically legal but functionally invisible; no competitive shell wants a one-mana cantrip that only untaps creatures when Brainstorm and Swords to Plowshares exist. Modern is the same story: the effect is narrow enough that it never cracked constructed play there either. Oathbreaker could support it in the same tap-engine shells that Commander does, just compressed into a 20-life format.

Price Context

Current price

$3.46 cheap tier

At $3.46, To Arms! sits at a reasonable entry point for a card with a genuine combo ceiling — you're not overpaying for bulk, but you're not gambling on a spec either. It holds that price on the back of Selvala, Explorer Returned demand, and nothing about its supply situation suggests that changes soon.
