Tilling Treefolk

Tilling Treefolk is a Commander card through and through — the one-shot ETB is fine in a singleton format where graveyard recursion compounds over a long game. In Pauper it's technically legal but rarely played, since common-tier land recursion at five mana is too slow for that format's tempo demands. Legacy and Vintage have no practical interest in it; both formats have access to far more efficient land engines. The sweet spot is Commander shells that deliberately bin lands early — through fetchlands, Life from the Loam, or looting effects — and then use Tilling Treefolk as a mid-game refill that also leaves a blocker behind.
