Threefold Thunderhulk puts three 3/3 Golem tokens on the board the moment it enters — that's nine power split across three bodies for one card, and artifact-token synergies immediately fold it into any artifact-matters shell. The Capitoline Triad decks run it at nearly 80% inclusion because three artifacts entering at once is exactly what that engine needs, and Urza, Lord High Artificer turns each of those Golems into a mana source.
Best Commanders
Commanders with the highest synergy

The Capitoline Triad
The Capitoline Triad triggers off artifacts entering the battlefield, and Threefold Thunderhulk delivers three of them simultaneously — that's one card doing the work of three for whatever payoff The Capitoline Triad is tracking.
Tetzin, Gnome Champion
Tetzin, Gnome Champion cares about artifacts and specifically rewards stacking multiple triggers in one shot; Threefold Thunderhulk's three-token ETB generates immediate artifact count and feeds Tetzin, Gnome Champion's chest-opening payoffs without requiring additional setup.

Graaz, Unstoppable Juggernaut
Graaz, Unstoppable Juggernaut turns every artifact creature into a Juggernaut, so the three 3/3 Golems from Threefold Thunderhulk become three 5/3 trampling attackers the moment they hit the battlefield.

Leonardo da Vinci
Leonardo da Vinci rewards artifact creation and can copy or recur constructs, making Threefold Thunderhulk a reliable three-body generator that plugs directly into the token-and-artifact count Leonardo da Vinci wants to build.

Omarthis, Ghostfire Initiate
Omarthis, Ghostfire Initiate scales on colorless creatures getting counters, and the trio of Golems from Threefold Thunderhulk gives Omarthis, Ghostfire Initiate immediate material to distribute +1/+1 counters across — three threats for the price of one card is exactly the efficiency that build needs.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |

| pioneer | legal |
| standard | legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Threefold Thunderhulk is legal across every major Constructed format but has found a real home only in Commander, where the combination of a large body and three artifact tokens entering simultaneously generates the kind of multi-trigger value that artifact-matters commanders demand. In competitive 60-card formats like Modern and Pioneer it's too slow and too passive — seven mana for a win condition with no built-in protection doesn't cut it when the format answers threats efficiently before that turn arrives. Standard technically supports it, but the same speed problem applies; without a dedicated artifact shell at critical mass, the card is just an expensive body. Commander is where the math works: one card producing three artifact ETB triggers at once turns generic synergy commanders into engines, and the sheer board presence makes it a legitimate curve-topper in any Golem or construct-tribal list.

$0.79 bulk tier
At $0.79, Threefold Thunderhulk sits squarely in bulk territory — easy to pick up as a four-of or a cube staple without any financial hesitation. Bulk rares with genuine Commander demand tend to spike when a new artifact commander pushes inclusion above a certain threshold, so this is a reasonable card to grab playset quantities of now rather than later.
