Threads of Disloyalty

In Legacy, Threads of Disloyalty earns its slot by nabbing Dark Confidant, Delver of Secrets, Thalia, Guardian of Thraben, and most of the format's premier one- and two-drops — it's a sideboard staple in blue tempo and control shells. Modern sees less play as the format has shifted toward faster threats that either go wide or have power above 2, but it still punishes Humans and creature-combo decks hard enough to warrant sideboard consideration. In Commander, Threads of Disloyalty is niche: the average creature is larger, but it precisely answers mana dorks, stax pieces, and hatebears like Collector Ouphe or Esper Sentinel that would otherwise lock you out — blue theft-matters commanders or stax-disruption builds get real mileage here. Vintage is legal and the target density is high, though faster interaction usually takes priority.
