In Commander, Thopter Arrest earns its slot as flexible targeted removal that handles the threats white struggles most with — indestructible creatures and problem artifacts like Grafted Exoskeleton or Blightsteel Colossus — all on one card. The sorcery speed and enchantment shell are real downsides in a format where Cyclonic Rift and Enchantment destruction are everywhere, but exile over destroy justifies the risk.
