Thelon's Curse
Enchantment
Blue creatures don't untap during their controllers' untap steps.
At the beginning of each player's upkeep, that player may choose any number of tapped blue creatures they control and pay for each creature chosen this way. If the player does, untap those creatures.

Thelon's Curse forces every opponent to sacrifice a Forest or take 2 damage each upkeep — a persistent, symmetrical tax that punishes green-heavy tables while costing you only two mana. It's a niche hate piece, not a staple, but in the right meta it does real work for essentially nothing.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Thelon's Curse is legal in Commander, Legacy, Vintage, and Oathbreaker, but it only meaningfully shows up in Commander, where green is the most common color at the table and the multiplayer math multiplies the damage pressure across three opponents. In Legacy and Vintage, green threats are too fast and too redundant for a slow enchantment tax to matter — by the time it drains a few life, the game is already decided. In Commander it earns its slot in dedicated green-hate or stax builds, though it's a meta call: at a table without multiple green players, it does close to nothing.

Current price
$0.67 bulk tier
At $0.67, Thelon's Curse sits firmly in bulk territory — cheap enough to pick up on a whim, but not a card that holds or grows value. It's a safe throw-in for any stax or hate-enchantment build without any financial risk.
