Tenacity pumps your entire team +1/+1 and grants lifelink until end of turn for three mana — in a token or wide-board deck, that's a surprise alpha strike and a life total swing in one card. It slots cleanly into Sunforger packages, which is the main reason to run it over a more conventional finisher.

Tenacity is almost exclusively a Commander card — the wide boards that make it backbreaking simply don't exist in one-on-one formats where trading resources is the norm. In Legacy, Modern, and Pioneer it's outclassed by more efficient pump spells or just irrelevant outside of token fringe strategies that have better options. Commander is where the math finally works: one card affects every creature you control, and the lifelink clause can meaningfully stabilize against a threatening player while closing out another.
