Technomancer enters and reanimates up to two artifacts from your graveyard — that's a two-for-one stapled to a body, and in artifact-heavy builds that routinely cash in Krark-Clan Ironworks, it refuels the engine on the spot. The five-mana cost is real, but Imotekh the Stormlord decks treat it as a payoff, not a setup piece, and at that rate the value is straightforward.
Best Commanders
Commanders with the highest synergy

Imotekh the Stormlord
Imotekh the Stormlord runs Technomancer in over 66% of its decks because the deck constantly sacrifices Necron Warrior tokens and discards artifacts, meaning the graveyard is always stocked for a two-target recursion hit the moment Technomancer resolves.

Trazyn the Infinite
Trazyn the Infinite can copy Technomancer's enter-the-battlefield trigger by imprinting it, effectively doubling the recursion without casting the card a second time.

Technomancer is a Commander card in practice — its power scales with the depth of an artifact graveyard, and no format rewards that setup as reliably as a 100-card singleton game. Legacy and Vintage legality is technically on the books, but five mana for a non-explosive enters effect has no competitive footing there. Commander is the only real home, specifically artifact-sacrifice or Necron-tribal shells where the graveyard fills fast enough to make Technomancer's recursion immediately impactful rather than conditional.

Current price
$0.46 bulk tier
At $0.46, Technomancer is bulk — easy to acquire and easy to cut without regret if the meta calls for something faster. Given its near-exclusive appeal to a specific tribal archetype, don't expect significant price movement in either direction.
