Take Possession steals any permanent — land, enchantment, planeswalker, whatever — and slaps split second on top so nobody can respond. Seven mana is a real cost, but the unconditional targeting and the uncounterable clause make it one of the cleanest answers blue has to enchantments it normally can't touch.

Commander is where Take Possession lives. Multiplayer games go long enough that seven mana is reachable, and the split second clause matters enormously when the table knows the steal is coming and wants to sacrifice or blink the target in response. In Legacy and Vintage it's a legal curiosity — those formats move too fast and too efficiently for a seven-mana sorcery to see real play. Take Possession is a Commander card through and through: the longer the game, the more broken the permanent worth stealing, the better it looks.

Price Context
Current price
$0.35 bulk tier
At $0.35, Take Possession sits firmly in bulk territory, which undersells how often it ends games in Commander. The price is unlikely to move — supply is wide and demand stays modest — but the rate-for-effect in casual metas is strong enough that the low cost makes it an easy pickup.
