Sutured Ghoul can enter the battlefield as a creature with double-digit power and trample for seven mana — the ceiling is absurd, the floor is a 0/0 that dies immediately if your graveyard is empty. It wins games in dedicated reanimator and graveyard-stacking shells; it's a blank outside them.

Commander is where Sutured Ghoul actually gets to live — graveyard synergies are plentiful, games go long enough to hit seven mana, and a single Entomb or Buried Alive before you cast it can make it a 15/15 trampler that closes in one swing. In Legacy and Vintage it's too slow and too fragile against free interaction; Reanimator decks in those formats want cheaper targets that win more reliably than a creature that needs the yard already stocked. Modern has faster clocks and more efficient threats, so Sutured Ghoul never sees play there either. In Commander it's a niche role-player rather than a staple, but in the right build it genuinely threatens to end games.

Price Context
Current price
$0.62 bulk tier
At $0.62, Sutured Ghoul sits firmly in bulk territory — easy to pick up without a second thought. Bulk rares with narrow applications tend to stay cheap, so don't expect this to move unless a new commander pushes graveyard power matters into the mainstream.
