Sunshower Druid puts a land directly onto the battlefield when it enters — not a Rampant Growth effect, but a triggered body that sticks around for further value. Evolution Witness comparisons are fair but miss the point: Clement, the Worrywort turns every Druid trigger into cascading advantage, and that's where Sunshower Druid earns its slot.
Best Commanders
Commanders with the highest synergy

Clement, the Worrywort
Clement, the Worrywort's ability rewards exactly the kind of incremental, on-ETB land drops that Sunshower Druid produces, making it an 88% inclusion in Clement lists for good reason — the Druid fuels the engine on the turn it arrives and keeps the land count ticking for every subsequent trigger.

Grolnok, the Omnivore
Grolnok, the Omnivore mills your own library aggressively, and Sunshower Druid gives you a creature that still delivers a land even if it hits the graveyard before you can cast it — the ETB upside is just a bonus on top of being a frog that fills the yard.

Sunshower Druid is legal everywhere and relevant almost nowhere except Commander, where 100-card singleton and four-player games make incremental land ramp genuinely valuable. In competitive 1v1 formats like Modern or Pioneer, a 2/2 that fetches a basic at three mana is simply too slow — there are faster, more efficient ramp spells that don't require a body to survive. Pauper is the one non-Commander format where Sunshower Druid could theoretically see play in a tempo-ramp shell, but it's not carving out a niche there either. Stick to Commander, specifically goodstuff-green or ETB-value builds, and the Druid earns its seat at the table.

At $0.27, Sunshower Druid is pure bulk — pick it up without a second thought if it fits the build. Bulk commons and uncommons at this price point don't move much in either direction, so there's no timing consideration: just grab it.
