Stormbound Geist enters as a 2/2 flier and comes back as a 3/3 flier when it dies — two bodies for one card, both with evasion. Kykar, Wind's Fury and any commander that cares about creatures entering or dying gets double the triggers off a single slot.

Stormbound Geist is essentially a Commander card — the self-recursion mechanic is slow and positional, which doesn't fit the tempo demands of Legacy or Vintage where it's technically legal. In Pauper it's a common, so it's eligible there, but blue-black Pauper decks have tighter options and a 2/2 that eventually becomes a 3/3 doesn't pressure the board fast enough to matter. Commander is where Stormbound Geist earns its slot: decks that want repeatable death triggers, Spirit tribal payoffs, or cheap sacrifice fodder all have legitimate reasons to run it.
