Stench of Evil wipes all Plains from the battlefield and forces their controller to lose 2 life per land destroyed — a one-sided nuke in a mono-black shell against white-heavy tables. The cost is real: it does nothing in games without white opponents, making it a meta call rather than a staple.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t

Stench of Evil is a Commander card through and through — the more white decks at a four-player table, the more land destruction and life drain you're buying for four mana. In Legacy and Vintage it's legal but has never found a home; those formats move too fast for a sorcery that requires opponents to be on white in the first place. Oathbreaker shares the same logic as Commander: high upside against white, dead card otherwise.

Price Context
Current price
$0.26 bulk tier
At $0.26, Stench of Evil is deep bulk — pick it up for pocket change if your local meta is white-heavy. Demand is too narrow to expect the price to move in either direction.
