Stand or Fall splits an opponent's attacking creatures into two groups at the start of combat — one group must attack, the other can't — giving you hard control over which threats reach you before damage is even dealt. The cost is real: it only works on opponents who are already swinging at you, so it does nothing until someone commits to an attack.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |

| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |

| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
In Commander, Stand or Fall is a reactive combat trick that rewards pillowfort and political builds — it's best when you can reliably predict that at least one opponent will attack you each turn. Legacy and Vintage are the only other formats where it's legal, but neither has any meaningful use for a sorcery-speed combat manipulation effect in a format defined by fast mana and counterspell wars. The card lives and dies in Commander, specifically in red-white shells that care about attack triggers or managing combat math across multiple opponents.

Price Context
Current price
$0.34 bulk tier
At $0.34, Stand or Fall is deep bulk — a narrow, situational enchantment that has never seen meaningful demand. Supply is high and likely to stay that way; buy as many copies as you need without hesitation, but don't expect the price to move.
