Spiteful Visions card art
Spiteful Visions makes every player draw a card and take 2 damage — four players drawing at a normal rate means roughly 8 damage a turn pointed at each opponent before you've done anything else. Nekusar, the Mindrazer doubles down on every draw trigger and turns that passive bleeding into a clock; Khârn the Betrayer leans into the symmetry deliberately, weaponizing the forced draws as a feature rather than a cost.

Commanders with the highest synergy

01
Nekusar, the Mindrazer

Nekusar, the Mindrazer

64.5% of decks · synergy 0.59

Nekusar, the Mindrazer pings each opponent for every card they draw, so Spiteful Visions doesn't just accelerate everyone's hand — it bolts the table on each draw step and every wheel effect you fire off. The two cards are the core of the archetype together.

03
Winter, Misanthropic Guide

Winter, Misanthropic Guide

48.0% of decks · synergy 0.46

Winter, Misanthropic Guide taxes opponents for playing the game, and Spiteful Visions piles on by making card draw itself hurt — stacking passive damage sources is exactly the attrition plan Winter wants.

04
Mogis, God of Slaughter

Mogis, God of Slaughter

52.1% of decks · synergy 0.43

Mogis, God of Slaughter wants a steady drip of life loss across the whole table, and Spiteful Visions is one of the cleanest engines for that — two guaranteed damage per player per turn with zero additional work required.

05
The Lord of Pain

The Lord of Pain

50.9% of decks · synergy 0.42

The Lord of Pain converts opponents' card draw into damage dealt to them, and Spiteful Visions guarantees that engine fires every single draw step without needing a wheel or a triggered ability to set it up.

Spiteful Visions is a Commander card through and through — the symmetrical damage only becomes a weapon when it's hitting three opponents simultaneously instead of one. In Legacy and Vintage it's legal but irrelevant; four mana for a slow enchantment that doesn't interact with the stack doesn't compete in those formats. Oathbreaker is the one other format where it sees fringe play, again because the multi-opponent math tilts the symmetry in your favor. Anywhere with a single opponent, Spiteful Visions is just accelerating a race you'd rather not run.

Price Context

Current price

$1.51 cheap tier

At $1.51, Spiteful Visions is a bulk-rare buy for any wheel-and-ping deck — no meaningful barrier to entry. It sees enough play in Nekusar-style builds that the price has a floor, but don't expect it to climb; it's not a scarce card and the demand ceiling is narrow.
