Sparring Regimen puts a +1/+1 counter on a creature every time it attacks, and it generates a Treasure when the enchanted creature gets those counters — card advantage stapled to a combat reward. The cost is that you're spending three mana on an Aura that does nothing the turn you cast it and dies the moment the creature dies.

Sparring Regimen is legal in Commander, Legacy, Modern, Pioneer, Vintage, and Oathbreaker. Commander is the only format where it's worth serious consideration — the slower pace, larger life totals, and combat-heavy strategies that run Aura packages make the incremental value of Sparring Regimen add up over a full game. In Modern and Legacy, three mana for a do-nothing-immediately Aura is simply too slow against the threats and interaction those formats demand. Pioneer is the closest call, but dedicated Aura or Voltron-style decks there still prefer payoffs that stabilize the board rather than scale gradually. Oathbreaker is the one non-Commander 60-card format where a specific commander pairing could justify it, but the window is narrow.
