Snapping Gnarlid is a two-mana 2/2 that grows by 1 for each land you control beyond two — straightforward landfall-adjacent scaling on a body that rarely threatens much past 4/4 before the game is over. It gets outclassed fast and has no other text to justify the slot.
Format Analysis

Snapping Gnarlid is a bulk common in every format it's legal in, and that's the whole story. In Commander, landfall decks have better options at every point on the curve — Scute Swarm and Ulvenwald Hydra do more with land count, and a vanilla-adjacent beater is never the plan. In Pauper, the power floor is high enough that a 2/2 with conditional sizing doesn't make the cut in any competitive shell. Legacy, Modern, and Pioneer don't want this at any price.

Price Context

unknown tier
Pricing data isn't available in the current feed, but Snapping Gnarlid is a common with no competitive history, so expect bulk-bin territory — a few cents at most. It's not worth actively hunting down unless you're completing a collection or need filler for a casual precon replacement.
