Smoky Lounge // Misty Salon

Enchantment — Room // Enchantment — Room

At the beginning of your first main phase, add {R}{R}. Spend this mana only to cast Room spells and unlock doors.
(You may cast either half. That door unlocks on the battlefield. As a sorcery, you may pay the mana cost of a locked door to unlock it.)

Smoky Lounge // Misty Salon card art
Smoky Lounge // Misty Salon enters tapped and produces one blue or black mana — the floor for a dual land — but the modal back face lets you sacrifice it to draw a card when you have no cards in hand, giving it a built-in late-game escape valve. It's a budget dual that trades early tempo for a narrow upside most decks will rarely trigger.

In Commander, Smoky Lounge // Misty Salon occupies the bottom tier of Dimir fixing — fine in a budget build, immediately cut once you can afford Watery Grave or even Dismal Backwater with upside. The Misty Salon half is nearly irrelevant in the format since you're rarely hellbent with 99 cards fueling your hand. In competitive 60-card formats like Modern and Legacy, enters-tapped duals are unplayable in any deck that cares about speed, and the hellbent draw condition is too conditional to rescue it. Standard and Pioneer are the only contexts where it sees a genuine role, slotting into slower Dimir control or midrange lists that need cheap fixing and can occasionally cash it in for a card in a topdeck war.

Price Context

Current price

$0.08 bulk tier

At $0.08, Smoky Lounge // Misty Salon is deep bulk — buy a playset for the price of a pack of gum. Don't expect that to move; enters-tapped duals with narrow modal backs have no scarcity ceiling keeping them off the bulk table.
