Sky Hussar taps to draw a card and untaps itself whenever you cast a white or blue spell — free card draw stapled to a 3/3 flier with no mana activation required. The convoke cost makes it effectively free in creature-heavy white-blue builds, and the engine it creates alongside Deadeye Navigator is as broken as it sounds.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Commander is where Sky Hussar actually belongs — the convoke cost collapses in token or creature-heavy blue-white builds, and free repeatable draw on a body is exactly the kind of incremental value that compounds over a long game. Legacy and Vintage are legal homes on paper, but Sky Hussar is too slow and too narrow to register in formats where turn-one plays define the game. Modern is similarly legal but similarly irrelevant — the card does nothing that competitive Modern decks want. Oathbreaker is the one other format worth a mention, where the lower life totals and focused game plans still leave room for value engines of this type.

Current price
$0.30 bulk tier
At $0.30, Sky Hussar is deep bulk — a rare that never spiked and has no competitive demand propping it up. The price is stable for the same reason it's low: casual Commander interest keeps a floor under it, but nothing is coming to push it higher.
