Skulking Killer trades a 3/2 deathtouch body for a targeted creature kill — creature-type-matters removal stapled to a relevant attacker. Five mana for that package is the ask, and in Commander it's a fair rate for what amounts to an unconditional answer with legs.

In Commander, Skulking Killer earns its slot in tribal black decks that want removal which also advances a board state — you're not wasting a card slot on a pure answer. Outside Commander, the competition is too stiff: Modern and Legacy have Fatal Push and Deadly Rollick; Pioneer has Noxious Grasp and Sheoldred, the Apocalypse generating value at similar points on the curve. Skulking Killer is a Commander card through and through, and even there it's a niche fit rather than a staple.

Price Context
Current price
$0.05 bulk tier
At $0.05, Skulking Killer is deep bulk — buy a playset for a quarter and never think about it again. The price reflects its narrow application; don't expect it to move unless a tribal-deathtouch Commander pushes it into the spotlight.
