Skred card art
Skred kills any creature on the board for one mana — as long as you're running snow lands, which in a mono-red or snow-heavy build you almost certainly are. In Imodane, the Pyrohammer decks it doubles as a win condition, since the damage Skred deals copies to each opponent's face.

Imodane, the Pyrohammer

Imodane, the Pyrohammer

18.4% of decks · synergy 0.17

Imodane, the Pyrohammer copies any single-target damage spell to all opponents, so Skred's ceiling climbs as the snow land count rises — a 10-damage Skred becomes 10 to the face for the entire table.

Svella, Ice Shaper

Svella, Ice Shaper decks build around snow permanents by design, which means the land count Skred needs to be relevant is already baked into the mana base from turn one.

Format Analysis

In Commander, Skred earns its slot exclusively in snow-heavy builds — outside of those, Lightning Bolt and Chaos Warp do more work. Pauper is where Skred has historically mattered most competitively: Skred Red is a real archetype there, using Mountains and snow lands to power out massive removal while grinding with value permanents. In Modern and Legacy it's a fringe option crowded out by cheaper, less conditional removal, but a dedicated snow-land shell can still make it function. Vintage doesn't care — the format's threat density and speed leave one-mana removal behind.

Price Context

Current price

$1.80 cheap tier

At $1.80, Skred sits comfortably in the cheap tier — low enough to include without hesitation in any snow build. It's a narrow enough card that price is unlikely to spike outside a high-profile tournament appearance in Pauper.
