Sigil of Valor card art
Sigil of Valor pumps your attacker by +1/+1 for each other creature you attacked with — free damage if you're already swinging wide, and nothing if you're not. The catch is it only counts when the equipped creature attacks alone after that trigger, which means it's built for solo-swing strategies like Raiyuu, Storm's Edge where attacking with one creature is the point, not the penalty.

Commanders with the highest synergy

01
Raiyuu, Storm's Edge

Raiyuu, Storm's Edge

43.3% of decks · synergy 0.43

Raiyuu, Storm's Edge demands you attack with exactly one Samurai or Warrior to trigger extra combat steps, so Sigil of Valor turns that structural constraint into a damage multiplier — the more attackers you've piled in over previous combats, the bigger the solo swing gets.

02
Rafiq of the Many

Rafiq of the Many

39.4% of decks · synergy 0.39

Rafiq of the Many already wants one creature swinging alone to stack exalted triggers, and Sigil of Valor layers a bonus on top of that — in a deck full of exalted permanents, the equipped creature enters combat with both a stacked power bonus and a Sigil pump.

Format Analysis

Sigil of Valor is a Commander card — full stop. The ability only fires meaningfully when you're attacking with a wide board but sending one creature through alone, a rhythm that comes up naturally in exalted builds, extra-combat loops, and Voltron strategies but almost never in the tempo games of Modern or Pioneer. In those formats, a 1-mana equip with a conditional +X/+X and a 2-mana equip cost doesn't clear the efficiency bar when opponents are interacting on turn two. Commander's multiplayer math and longer games give Sigil of Valor the time it needs to accumulate value, and the format's abundance of go-wide decks means the bonus is routinely large.

Price Context

Current price

$0.24 bulk tier

At $0.24, Sigil of Valor is pure bulk — no barrier to picking up copies for any Raiyuu or Rafiq list that wants it. Bulk Equipment with narrow applications rarely move off the floor, so expect this price to stay flat.
