Shiny Impetus redirects an opponent's attacker, replaces itself with a Treasure when that creature swings, and costs two mana — that's a lot of work for one card. In Nelly Borca, Impulsive Accuser builds, it's essentially mandatory: it goads, it ramps, and it triggers Nelly's "must attack" clause all at once.

Nelly Borca, Impulsive Accuser
Nelly Borca, Impulsive Accuser turns every forced attack into card draw, so Shiny Impetus becomes a two-mana ramp spell that also draws a card — it's the perfect overlap of goad and treasure payoff in a single slot.

Firkraag, Cunning Instigator
Firkraag, Cunning Instigator scales on the number of goaded creatures, so Shiny Impetus is one of the cleanest ways to convert a threat into a Treasure while simultaneously growing Firkraag's board presence.

Karazikar, the Eye Tyrant
Karazikar, the Eye Tyrant rewards goading with card draw and opponent life loss, so Shiny Impetus delivers the mandatory attack Karazikar wants while netting a Treasure on top.

Xantcha, Sleeper Agent
Xantcha, Sleeper Agent builds lean on political redirection and resource denial, and Shiny Impetus fills both roles — it points the biggest threat elsewhere while generating the mana to keep activating Xantcha.

Shiny Impetus is a Commander card through and through — the goad mechanic only matters in multiplayer, where redirecting a 7/7 for two mana and banking a Treasure is a real tempo play. In Legacy and Vintage, where it's technically legal, it does nothing competitive: sorcery-speed enchantments that don't affect the board immediately are unplayable in those formats. Pauper is the one fringe case worth noting — it's legal there, and a two-mana removal-lite effect with upside occasionally shows up in casual Pauper pods, though it's not a staple. Stick to Commander, where Shiny Impetus is actually doing what it was designed to do.

$0.33 bulk tier
At $0.33, Shiny Impetus is bulk by any measure — you can pick up a copy without a second thought on price. It sees consistent play in goad-centric Commander decks, so don't expect it to spike, but there's equally no reason it drops further given the steady demand.
