Shattered Wings destroys an enchantment and incidentally strips flying from a creature — one mana, two things affected, sorcery speed. It's narrow enough that most Commander decks want unconditional enchantment removal like Naturalize or Disenchant instead, but if your meta is thick with flying-heavy boards and enchantments both, this does real work for a single green mana.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | legal |
| standard | legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
In Commander, Shattered Wings occupies a crowded slot — enchantment removal is everywhere, and losing the flying rider to singletons you'd rather hit cleanly makes more flexible options easier to justify. In Pauper it's legal and the flying-removal angle is actually relevant given the format's evasion-heavy aggro, though even there you're usually cutting it for unconditional answers. Across competitive formats like Modern and Legacy, Shattered Wings simply doesn't see play — spell-based enchantment removal has better options at the same cost with no targeting restrictions.
