Serene Offering destroys an artifact and an enchantment simultaneously for two mana — that's two permanents removed at instant speed for the cost of a single card slot. The catch is that your opponent must control both targets, which means the effect is dead in hand when you only need one half of it.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Commander is the only format where Serene Offering sees any real consideration, and even there it sits on the fringe. The two-for-one appeal is real in a format full of artifact and enchantment hate targets, but the conditional double-requirement means it underperforms dedicated staples like Disenchant or Krosan Grip when the board doesn't cooperate. In Legacy and Vintage it's technically legal but functionally irrelevant — those formats have better options at every angle. Oathbreaker shares Commander's multi-player dynamics but the smaller deck size makes flexibility even more valuable, which again cuts against a spell this conditional.

Price Context
Current price
$0.28 bulk tier
At $0.28, Serene Offering is firmly bulk — a low-risk pickup that costs you almost nothing to try. Don't expect the price to move; conditional removal at sorcery-adjacent power level doesn't appreciate, it just sits in the bulk bin waiting for the right deck to need it.
