Rogue Class puts opponents on a clock the moment it hits the table — the level-two ability turns every attack into a hand-knowledge advantage, and the level-three ability converts that knowledge into stolen permanents. Two mana to cast, one more to level up each time, makes it one of the cheapest engines in any theft-based shell, and Gonti, Canny Acquisitor decks in particular treat it as a near-auto-include.

Rogue Class is a Commander card through and through — its level-three ability is simply too slow and conditional for Legacy or Modern, where games rarely extend to the point where a three-level enchantment closes things out. In Pioneer it's legal but sees virtually no competitive play for the same reason: paying incremental mana across multiple turns to steal permanents doesn't line up against aggressive or combo decks. Commander is where Rogue Class earns its keep, specifically in Rogue-tribal and theft-based shells where the level-two information advantage compounds over a long game and the level-three ability becomes a repeatable threat.
