Rocco, Street Chef
Legendary Creature — Elf Druid
At the beginning of your end step, each player exiles the top card of their library. Until your next end step, each player may play the card they exiled this way.
Whenever a player plays a land from exile or casts a spell from exile, you put a +1/+1 counter on target creature and create a Food token. (It's an artifact with ",
, Sacrifice this token: You gain 3 life.")

Rocco, Street Chef turns every spell you cast into a food token and pings each opponent whenever one of those tokens gets sacrificed — free incremental damage and artifact fodder stapled to a three-mana body. The catch is that the damage is slow and diffuse, so Rocco earns his keep in spellslinger or sacrifice shells rather than as a standalone threat; pair him with Birgi, God of Storytelling // Harnfel, Horn of Bounty and the food tokens become a resource engine that also drains the table.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Rocco, Street Chef is legal in Commander, Legacy, Modern, Pioneer, Vintage, and Oathbreaker, but competitive constructed formats have zero interest — three mana for a 2/4 that produces food tokens is far too slow for Legacy or Modern, where every mana is a premium and the damage output is negligible. Commander is the natural home: the long game lets Rocco's incremental triggers accumulate, and the multiplayer damage hits all opponents simultaneously, so each food sacrifice is worth three or four times what it would be in a duel. Oathbreaker is a reasonable secondary home for food-themed or sacrifice-matters signatures, but the faster pace of that format blunts the value unless your signature spell triggers Rocco multiple times in a turn.

$0.31 bulk tier
At $0.31, Rocco, Street Chef sits firmly in bulk territory — you're picking this up as a throw-in or out of a bulk bin, not budgeting for it. Bulk rares at this price point tend to stay flat unless a combo breakout hits social media, so treat it as an easy include, not a spec.
