Robe of Mirrors card art
Robe of Mirrors gives a creature shroud for one blue mana — the cheapest protection aura in the game, and the tradeoff is that you can't target your own creature either. It's a niche piece, not a staple: run it when your commander is a slow-building engine that enemies will answer at every opportunity and you don't need to stack further Auras or Equipment on top.

In Commander, Robe of Mirrors sees its most meaningful play on commanders that win by sitting in play and accumulating value — anything that draws heat but doesn't need to be retargeted by you. Competitive formats like Legacy and Vintage have better shroud and hexproof options at the same cost, so Robe of Mirrors doesn't see serious play there. Pauper is the one non-Commander format where it occasionally appears, purely because the budget floor is relevant and alternatives are scarcer at common. For Oathbreaker, the logic mirrors Commander — the planeswalker-as-commander structure rarely wants shroud since you're activating the oathbreaker directly.

Price Context

Current price

unknown tier

Current price data for Robe of Mirrors isn't available in this listing, but it has historically been a bulk rare — expect well under a dollar at most vendors. It's worth picking up as a cheap include if your commander is a repeated removal target, but don't pay a premium hunting a copy down.
