Ribbons of the Reikai draws you cards equal to the number of Spirits you control, then puts a 3/3 Spirit token into play — all for five mana at sorcery speed. It's a role-player, not a staple: in a dedicated Spirit tribal deck it refuels and adds to the board in one shot, but anywhere else it's just an expensive Divination.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Ribbons of the Reikai sees virtually no play outside Commander, where tribal synergies can justify otherwise overcosted effects. In Commander, it earns a slot only in Spirit-dense builds — think ten or more Spirits on board — where it draws four-plus cards and leaves a body; in fair-count lists it underperforms straightforwardly better draw spells. In Pauper it's legal but the format's commons offer cleaner card advantage without the tribal dependency. Legacy and Vintage have no interest: five mana at sorcery speed for conditional draw is laughably slow against those fields.

Price Context
Current price
$0.25 bulk tier
At $0.25, Ribbons of the Reikai sits firmly in bulk territory and is unlikely to move — it's too narrow for casual all-purpose play and too slow for competitive formats. Pick it up freely if you're building Spirit tribal; it costs nothing and will never cost much.
