Rewards of Diversity pays you life equal to the number of colors among permanents you control — in a four- or five-color deck, that's easily 4–6 life per trigger, repeatable as long as the enchantment sits on the board. The cost is three mana for a non-interactive enchantment that does nothing the turn it enters, which means it earns its slot only in decks already committed to running multiple colors as a mechanical priority.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Rewards of Diversity is legal in Commander, Legacy, Vintage, and Oathbreaker, but the only format where it's actually playable is Commander. Legacy and Vintage move too fast for a three-mana enchantment that gains life and nothing else — those formats demand interaction or acceleration, and life gain without a combo attached is irrelevant. In Commander, it earns a look in four- and five-color builds where the color diversity condition is trivially satisfied every game, making it a cheap, passive cushion against aggro and early pressure. It's a narrow role-player, not a staple, but in the right shell the condition costs nothing to meet.

Price Context
Current price
$0.44 bulk tier
At $0.44, Rewards of Diversity is deep bulk — easy to acquire and easy to cut without remorse if the slot needs to do more. The price is unlikely to move unless a five-color commander breaks out and specifically rewards life gain, which would need to be a very specific card to push demand on something this narrow.
