Resurrection puts any creature from any graveyard directly onto the battlefield — full stats, no conditions — for four mana at sorcery speed. It's outclassed by cheaper reanimation in most powered lists, but it gets the job done cleanly when budget or color constraints apply.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
In Commander, Resurrection competes in a crowded lane — Animate Dead, Reanimate, and Victimize all cost less and see far more play, so it sits toward the bottom of white's reanimation stack. That said, it's a clean, unconditional effect that any white deck can run without combo infrastructure, which matters in budget or casual builds. In Pauper it's legal and faces less competition from premium reanimation, making it a more viable roleplayer. Legacy and Vintage have enough broken reanimation that Resurrection never sees serious play. Oathbreaker mirrors Commander: fine as a backup, rarely the first choice.

Price Context
Current price
$0.34 bulk tier
At $0.34, Resurrection is deep bulk — a penny-rare in all but name, and price stability is essentially guaranteed since there's no competitive demand pulling it up. It's the kind of card you grab out of a bulk box rather than order deliberately.
