Rendclaw Trow card art
Rendclaw Trow is a recursive sacrifice outlet that combines wither and undying into a single two-mana body — die with a -1/-1 counter already on it and it comes back, die clean and it comes back with a counter that satisfies the undying trigger next time. Pair it with Viscera Seer and you have a free, repeatable sacrifice loop that generates scry every single turn.

Commander is where Rendclaw Trow earns its slot — sacrifice and undying synergies are everywhere in the format, and a recursive body that costs two mana is cheap enough to never feel like a liability. In Pauper it's legal and occasionally sees fringe play in aristocrats shells that need budget-friendly undying creatures. Legacy and Vintage have it technically legal but the competition at every point on the curve is too steep to justify it outside of highly specific combo contexts. Rendclaw Trow is a Commander card first and a curiosity everywhere else.

At $0.21, Rendclaw Trow is deep bulk — buy a playset without thinking about it. Niche recursive creatures with combo applications tend to stay cheap indefinitely, so there's no urgency and no risk.
