Enchantment

Cumulative upkeep {1}{U}{U} (At the beginning of your upkeep, put an age counter on this permanent, then sacrifice it unless you pay its upkeep cost for each age counter on it.)

Reality Twist card art
Reality Twist locks down every basic land your opponents control, forcing their Mountains, Forests, Plains, Islands, and Swamps to produce colorless mana instead of their normal type. The effect is backbreaking in the right shell and negligible in the wrong one — Reality Twist is a three-mana enchantment that wins games against basic-heavy decks and does almost nothing against nonbasic-heavy ones.

Format Analysis

Where it lives, where it can’t

FormatVerdict

oathbreaker

Reality Twist is legal in Commander, Legacy, Vintage, and Oathbreaker, and irrelevant in every other format by legality. Commander is where it actually sees play — or where it theoretically should — because the four-player game magnifies its effect across three opponents' mana bases simultaneously. Legacy and Vintage fields are so nonbasic-dominated that Reality Twist rarely warrants a sideboard slot, let alone a maindeck one. In Oathbreaker, the smaller deck size and faster game pace make a three-mana enchantment with no immediate board impact a steep ask.

Price Context

Current price

$2.97 cheap tier

At $2.97, Reality Twist sits in cheap territory for a Reserved List enchantment with a genuinely unique effect. That Reserved List status is the floor — supply is fixed, and the price reflects obscurity more than demand, so it won't crater.
