Pursuit of Flight gives a creature +1/+1 and flying for two mana, and lets you pay another red to grow it — a fine Limited card that rarely justifies a Commander slot. Better aura options exist at every budget, and this one leaves you down a card the moment your creature dies.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Pursuit of Flight sees occasional play in Pauper aggressive red-white or Boros skies lists where flying bodies and pump stack up, but it's squeezed out by stronger auras even there. In Commander, one-for-one enchantment pump on a single creature is close to unplayable — the threat of removal makes this a two-for-one waiting to happen. Legacy, Modern, and Pioneer have no interest; any shell that wants evasion and stats can get both on a single creature body without the enchantment risk. Oathbreaker is the one fringe case where a low-to-the-ground aggressive build might tolerate it, though better one-shot pump spells do the same job without lingering on the battlefield.

Price Context
Current price
$0.08 bulk tier
At $0.08, Pursuit of Flight is deep bulk — the price reflects demand, which is nearly zero outside of budget draft chaff pickups. It won't lose value because there's no value to lose.
