Prowler's Helm card art
Prowler's Helm makes the equipped creature unblockable except by Walls, turning any commander that cares about combat damage into a consistent threat for two mana to equip. It's the backbone of Frodo, Sauron's Bane builds precisely because guaranteed hits are the whole game plan — if damage isn't connecting, Frodo isn't doing anything.

Frodo, Sauron's Bane

Frodo, Sauron's Bane

28.5% of decks · synergy 0.28

Frodo, Sauron's Bane needs to deal combat damage to players to advance his corruption track, and Prowler's Helm makes that happen every turn regardless of the board state — it's in 28% of Frodo lists for exactly that reason.

02
Magar of the Magic Strings

Magar of the Magic Strings

28.0% of decks · synergy 0.27

Magar of the Magic Strings needs to connect in combat to exile instants and sorceries face-down and trigger his recast ability, so Prowler's Helm converts him from a magnet for chump blockers into a reliable engine piece.

03
Blim, Comedic Genius

Blim, Comedic Genius

19.4% of decks · synergy 0.18

Yargle and Multani is a 9/5 that wins through commander damage, and Prowler's Helm removes the only obstacle standing between that number and an opponent's life total.

Prowler's Helm is a Commander card through and through — the equipment is legal in Legacy, Modern, Pioneer, and Vintage, but evasion-granting equipment for two mana equip has never been a competitive staple in those formats, where games end too fast for a slow-rolling equipment to matter. In Commander, the calculus flips: games go long, commanders accumulate damage over multiple swings, and a two-mana equip that shuts out nearly every blocker in a 100-card singleton format is genuine infrastructure. Oathbreaker plays similarly to Commander in that your planeswalker needs to connect or threaten consistently, making Prowler's Helm a reasonable include there too.

Price Context

Current price

$0.61 bulk tier

At $0.61, Prowler's Helm is deep bulk — a pickup you throw in the cart without thinking. It sees enough Commander play across evasion-dependent strategies that copies move steadily, but supply is high enough that the price isn't going anywhere meaningful.
