Proud Pack-Rhino card art
Proud Pack-Rhino puts two 3/3 bodies on the board for five mana — a reasonable rate on its own — but the connive rider and the ability to copy spells via Myojin of Cryptic Dreams or similar effects push it from fine to genuinely useful in go-wide strategies. Bulk rare, board presence, tribal upside: the cost is low enough that the verdict is easy.

Proud Pack-Rhino is a Commander card through and through — the two-body token split is exactly what token-doubler and aristocrats shells want, and the connive trigger rewards you for having a full hand rather than punishing you for it. In Legacy and Vintage it's simply outclassed; those formats don't make time for a five-mana vanilla-adjacent creature with no immediate protection. Modern is the same story: the rate isn't embarrassing, but there's no competitive home hunting for this effect. Commander is where Proud Pack-Rhino earns its slot, specifically in Rhino tribal, Simic token shells, or any deck that cares about putting multiple creatures into play off a single spell.

Price Context

Current price

$0.21 bulk tier

At $0.21, Proud Pack-Rhino is deep bulk — pick it out of a common box or throw it in a cart to hit free shipping. Bulk rares with narrow tribal applications rarely climb unless a dedicated commander pushes demand, so don't expect appreciation, but at this price you're not buying a gamble either.
